How to Get a Custom Suit Made in Auckland Without a Melbourne Trip

Most women have a story about a suit that almost fits. The shoulders sat right but the waist drowned. The jacket worked but the trousers had to be taken in twice. The occasion came and went, and you wore the thing knowing it wasn't really yours.

Isadora Nim is a Melbourne atelier founded in 2016 by Peter. Australia's first tailoring house built entirely for women. We've been making suits for clients across Australia ever since, and Peter is planning to come to Auckland to give New Zealand women the chance to experience first hand the pleasure of having a custom suit made for them.

If you're in Auckland and looking for a custom suit, here's how it works.

How the Travelling Tailor Service Works for Auckland Clients

Outside the Melbourne studio, Peter works through trunk shows: a single visit to a city, a small number of private appointments, and the full Isadora Nim collection brought to you. We run regular trunk shows in Sydney, and Peter is planning to come to Auckland.

For Auckland women today, there are two paths:

  • Register interest for the Auckland trunk show. Dates aren't set yet. The list is what helps Peter confirm them. Registered guests will be the first to know when Auckland dates are confirmed, with 48 hours of access before the calendar opens publicly.

  • Attend the Sydney trunk show on 17 to 20 July if you can't wait. Same format, same Peter, same collection. Worth the flight if you have a fixed deadline.

Either way, the place to start is by telling us you're interested.

The Auckland Trunk Show

Peter is planning his first Auckland visit. It'll be a single visit with ten private appointments. That's it.

Here's the format:

  • A single Auckland visit, dates to be confirmed

  • Ten private sixty-minute appointments across the visit

  • One-on-one with Peter

  • The full Isadora Nim collection on hand: bridal, corporate, and special occasion

  • Measurements taken in the appointment if you decide to order

  • No obligation either way

Forty-seven women in Auckland have already registered their interest. When dates land, they'll hear first.

What the Custom Suit Auckland Process Looks Like Step by Step

Step One: Register Your Interest

Tell us you're interested. Dates aren't set yet, but registering puts you on the list that helps Peter confirm them. When they're set, you'll hear first, 48 hours before the calendar opens publicly.

Register your Auckland interest here.

Step Two: Book Your Appointment

When the dates are confirmed, your booking link arrives first. Pick a time that suits you. Only ten spots exist across the whole Auckland visit, so registered guests get the early window for a reason.

Step Three: Meet Peter at the Trunk Show

Sixty unhurried minutes with Peter at the Auckland venue. You'll talk through fabrics, styles, and what the suit is for. Peter brings swatches from our curated Italian fabric collection, including mills like Vitale Barberis Canonico and Crilu Tessuti. If an Isadora Nim suit is right for you, measurements happen there and then.

If it isn't, you leave with no pressure either way.

Step Four: Receive Your Suit

Six to eight weeks from confirmed order. Peter handles your fittings himself, and looks after complimentary minor alterations for as long as you wear the suit. Bodies change. Pregnancies, fitness journeys, life happens. We adapt your suit accordingly. That's the promise.

What Auckland Clients Can Expect

Six things shape every Isadora Nim suit:

  • Made for you. Every piece is measured, cut, and finished for your body. Nothing is adjusted down from a men's pattern.

  • Radically inclusive. All shapes, sizes, and identities are welcome. If you want a suit, one will be made to fit you properly.

  • Private by design. Every fitting is by private appointment, never a shop floor. Just you and Peter, unhurried, for as long as the suit needs.

  • Slow fashion. Cloth from premium Italian, French and British mills, woven to hold its shape for decades of wear rather than a single season.

  • LGBTQ+ proud. Active supporters of the community, present at Midsumma, Pride, and beyond.

  • Life of the suit. Complimentary minor alterations for as long as you wear it.

On pricing: two-piece suits start at $1670, three-piece at  $2420, and jackets from $1100. Pricing includes Peter's travel, premium Italian fabrics, and free lifetime minor alterations. No hidden costs. The pieces and pricing at a trunk show are the same as at the Melbourne studio. You can see finished suits in our customer gallery.

What kinds of suits can I commission?

Wedding, corporate, and special occasion. The full collection comes with Peter to every trunk show.

How long does it take to get a custom suit made?

What should I bring to a first fitting appointment with Peter?

The most useful things to bring are:
