4 Tips for Nailing Your Lockdown Wedding

Two years ago, we would never have predicted that we’d be writing this blog, but here we are.

It’s fair to say that in light of travel restrictions, mask-wearing, and limits on gatherings, weddings are probably on the back burner for a lot of couples at the moment, with most waiting for a time to safely re-plan a canceled wedding. However, for those who have their hearts set on a wedding this year, intimate weddings and elopements are still an option, and in some cases can even open up the day to doing whatever you want, without having to plan your wedding around your guests.

Livestream it

You may have been one of the lucky people to attend a 2020 live-streamed wedding, thinking that you’d probably get the go-ahead to have a gathering in 2021… Yet here we are. There’s always the opportunity to involve your friends and family with a broadcasted wedding, which is where platforms like Zoom and FaceTime - and even Facebook Live Events - come in really handy. The best bit is that you can have as many people as you want, without having to consider venue seating limits.

You don’t have to skimp

The silver lining of scaling your wedding back is saving thousands on your bar and food bill. With the extra savings, you might even be able to put some of the extra money towards your dream wedding suit, an amazing floral arrangement, an incredible wedding photographer, or even just some of the best top-shelf champagne to celebrate with.

You get to choose the location

Since you’re no longer potentially limited to having your wedding where the majority of your family live, you have the wonderful opportunity to get married wherever your heart desires (within Covid restrictions, of course). Whether that looks like getting married at the top of a mountain, or in your favourite beach-side ice-cream shop, the choice is (very literally) yours.

Party later

Just because you haven’t had the option to have all your friends and family there with you on your special day, doesn’t mean they should miss out on the party. If you’ve already planned a wedding, then now’s your chance to postpone it a little longer, and get your friends and family together to celebrate when things open up again.

Hopefully, this has given you some ideas, and maybe even a little nudge (if you needed it) to have your wedding your way. The only thing you need to make your day special is you and your partner. (Oh, and someone to make it legal, with a couple of witnesses on the side!) If you’re on the lookout for a custom suit for your special day,, we’re here to help. We have customisable options available, so contact us to see how we can craft the perfect suit for you.
